The few inspirations for Rocketeer Raccoon

Now being an artist in training is hard work and a great idea such as my Rocketeer Raccoon work takes a long time to get all the set pieces just right. So here below I'll talk the 4 main characters and their design inspirations so here goes.

Rudy the Raccoon / Rocketeer Raccoon

The main hero of Rocketeer Raccoon is the Rocketeer Raccoon himself. Rudy hasn't always been happy with his life, always with no friends, having trouble getting away from bad people, always wishing he had a girlfriend and wanting to become popular. Eventually all of his problems ended when he discovered a jet-pack that had been buried under a oak tree for a long time, not only was the jet-pack as fast as the speed of light but also it gave him super strength while keeping his physique. After discovering it he befriended Patch, found new love with Lily and used his jet-pack to fight against crime and his tormentors and so Rudy became a hero. But what Rudy didn't know was that one day the world would be invaded by a greater threat, an army of evil red eyed monsters would seek to destroy in their sight and it would be up to Rudy to fight against them including his greatest enemy ever, Darkner.

A fan drawing that I like, generally the hair, ears and face are what I want Rudy to look like.

Rudy's clothes will be based off the Rocketeer just without the helmet.

And the best inspiration of Rudy of all, Sparkster from Rocket Knight Adventures!!! Goggles from Sparkster would be awesome on Rudy.

Patch the Dog

Patch is Rudy's best friend, he never lets his loyally to Rudy down. Patch himself is very smart and wise, and often Rudy seeks advise from Patch whenever Rudy is unsure about something. In fact it was Patch himself who helped give Rudy the conference he needed when Rudy first set eyes on Lily as Rudy was unsure if he should go for a female skunk or not.

The dog here is exactly what I want Patch too look like, only as an anthro dog this time.

Lily the Skunk

Lily is the beautiful sweet-hearted girlfriend of our hero, Rudy. Despite being a skunk, Rudy will still love her no matter what she is and since Rudy is a raccoon after all, he is capable of ignoring the bad odour when it happens. The biggest reasons why Rudy loves Lily so much is because she is very beautiful and has a kind personality, not forgetting that she too had a rough time finding love. Ever since meeting Lily, Rudy doesn't want to be with anyone else, bless. =)

So here are Lily's inspirations.

The first and the main inspiration to Lily is non-other than Princess Sally Acorn from the Saturday morning cartoon Sonic the Hedgehog (more commonly known as SatAM) as well as the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie comic books which still sell in the USA today. Although Sally is not a skunk but Lily's design will be somewhat similar to Sally's although Lily will have clothes and long hair. Speaking of long hair lets talk about the next inspiration of Lily.

A fan made character someone made and is not in their Deviant Art gallery anymore. THIS WILL BE the main concept of Lily's appearance, what I would change though would be those ears, make her black and white of course and put a hair band on her head and there you have it, the initial design of Lily. Just need to draw that.

Darkner

Oh boy, here I've left the best for last, the evil dreaded dark lord and the main villain of Rocketeer Raccoon, Darkner. Darkner was originally an environmentalist Human being called Steve Pitchhard and there was a conflict going on between Humans and the newly evolved Anthropomorphics which evolved any many animals and they were fighting over control of Aura after the destruction of Earth but I'm not going into detail about that. See what happened was any pestilences you can think of such as Rabies became a walking parasite and Steve was sent to destroy the source of the spread. Although he was successful but unfortunately he locked out as the military believed he was contaminated and really he wasn't until a jar of Bubonic Plague infested fleas broke out and bite him, then causing him to mutate into a hideous creature commonly known as a Red-Eye and since then he seeks his revenge on the living and so he ultimately becomes the dark lord of the Red-Eye Empire.

And this is a general idea of what Darkner may look like, the idea is to make Darkner have a Plague Doctor appearance while having a Dark Master appearance. Originally I wanted him to be appear like a cross between Hitler and Darth Vader but the idea is old and so the newer concept is much better.
